First up, my apologies for being AWOL for the most part this week and not getting a preview up in place for the game. I’m touched by the concerns of a few of our Collingwood Blog stalwarts within the comments section, but I assure you nothing untoward has come my way – it’s just been…

The Line, The Sand, The Way Forward
So far this year I’ve done my usual fence sitting routine for the most part regarding the Cloke contract situation, but it is probably now beyond the point where the club has to make a stand. I’ve gone from being indifferent to money matters – apathetic to the politics of the game – to now being genuinely sick and tired of this circus.
[Round 17 Review] Collingwood Vs. Hawthorn
I was hoping for some good medicine yesterday via a victorious Collingwood performance, but instead received a placebo. Perhaps worse even, considering that my flu symptoms or on the wain yet what I watched yesterday made my head hurt. I’ve found it’s always good to sleep on a defeat before tackling the autopsy – the…
[Round 17 Preview] Collingwood Vs. Hawthorn
You’ll have to bear with me on this one people, as I’m currently battling a bout of the flu and as such, may not be quite as on point as I like to think I am. No amount of mucus and aches can dampen my enthusiasm for our match this week though, as it shapes…
[VFL Round 16 Review] Collingwood Vs. Geelong
The VFL was at Victoria Park once again this week, with the Pies taking on the Cats in a mirror match-up with the AFL. Unfortunately for the Magpies, we weren’t destined to make what has become a rare appearance amongst the winner’s list this time around, with the Cats running out 36 point winners. Six…
[Round 16 Review] Collingwood Vs. Geelong
After the misery of last week, it was important that the team achieved a solid victory against the Cats to stem the concerns of the faithful and accelerate the grieving process after another loss to the Blues. In what was a pleasing performance for the most part, the Pies managed to topple the Cats for the second time this year, some consolation after last week’s let down.
[Round 16 Preview] Collingwood Vs. Geelong
In the wake of the sort of disappointing result that we’ve been unfamiliar with since the beginning of the year, it’s time to wind ourselves up into a frenzy once more. Last week was woeful, compounded by what happened earlier in the year, but fortunately for this team of ours they have a chance to atone somewhat.
Review For THAT Game…
Feels like deja vu to be honest, as earlier this year I was faced with a similar predicament when it came to reviewing our first encounter with the arch enemy. This one is a little harder to confront unfortunately, as in round three we were clearly not travelling all that well whilst the Blues were…
[Round 15 Preview] Collingwood Vs. Carlton
Redemption is nigh… I doubt many of us have forgotten that night back in round three, nor the ensuing week as the media in all their wisdom declared crisis point at Collingwood and a glory bound path for Carlton. Three months later and apparently Lygon Street isn’t a yellow brick road after all, whilst life…
[VFL Round 14 Player Review] Collingwood Vs. Frankston
Hallelujah! Our boys notched up their third victory for the year with a win against the cellar dwelling Frankston Dolphins on the weekend. Refreshingly, we not only won but strung together some solid football, maintaining possession and working hard to force turnovers in very tough conditions. Marty Clarke was a standout, but the likes of…
